AMA about my fantasy ringworld DnD setting
Before I start running my campaign in it, I want to blast through my higher-level worldbuilding and make sure I’ve not missed anything crucial I’ll immediately be asked by my players.
Tigin’s Ring is a magical ringworld with a radius of 7,000km and a width of 1,000km, set within an enclosed bubble of space. The “sun” is in the centre of the ring, with a day/night cycle provided by the seven moons which orbit the sun within the circumference of the ring, casting eclipse shadows which move around the ring. Each moon represents/contains a god.
What kinds of questions would you have if you were a player plonked into this setting? I’d like to believe I’ve thought of most things already but only yesterday did I realise it would always be “midday” during daylight hours, which in retrospect seems pretty obvious, so I’m now looking to fill as many gaps as possible!
The concept of taking a sci fi concept and treating it as magical fantasy is really intriguing to me, and so many fun details have come directly from trying to think through the implications of that base concept.
Thanks in advance!
