If you had to choose, East Coast or Appalachian Mountians?

East coast being the coastal plain, where most cities are, and Appalachian Mountains being, well, the Appalachian Mountains

The Appalachians have access to nature, low cost of living, land available at a low cost, and a lot of chaotic fun if you know the right people, but not as big of an economy, not as much planned events and establishments, and are not as diverse. There are gay bars but they’re not segmented into types like in many east coast cities. The food scene is tasty but limited compared to coastal cities. It’ll be hard to find a lot of foreign cuisines that aren’t off brand, but the biscuit scene, out of this world. Home ownership rates are high, many people even have land.

The east coast is the opposite, lots going on, lots of nightlife, concerts, food, but relatively expensive to live in, but low access to nature, high barriers to home and land ownership, and things tend to be more planned than chaotic. Way more diversity. More gay bars. Way more types of food. But you can also live your whole life climbing career ladders and never be able to own an animal bigger than a dog. You could be a CEO and live in an HOA that tells you you can’t have chickens. The view out of your house will likely be meh grade. But services are easier to come by, healthcare is better, the food scene is both more expansive and healthier, the airports have more flights so you can travel easier, and you’ll meet more people.
