Rebirth backtracked the dino outbreak, where can the franchise go now?

Jurassic Park

They spent 3 films spreading the dinosaurs out globally into the wild, then with Rebirth said they can only survive on these isolated tropical islands to bring the series back to its roots. OK, I liked Rebirth more than Dominion, but things still feel like a stale rehash overall. What other stories can really be told if they've backed off Dinos all over and we're not going to have herds of raptors running through Times Square a la Godzilla 98? I know many would be opposed but I've felt for years this series should go full Planet of the Apes and have experimentation result in various dinos reaching near human or on par intelligence, including possibly anthropomorphizing them to be more humanoid. There was a film that sort of did this in the 2000s called Anonymous Rex on the Scifi Channel I recommend. This would have to be done a specific way so its not goofy like Theodore Rex, but if they refuse to go in that direction are they really just gonna plop a few new species onto this and that island and milk that for another 2-3 films?.I just wish they did more storywise. The sense of awe or surprise/wonder is lacking. The plot of Rebirth was literally paint by numbers step 1, step 2, step 3 like a checklist, give some good action/chases, end film. Very shallow narratively. While Dominion's plot was an overwrought mess with all the locust nonsense I didnt care for at all and relied too much on the nostalgic return of grant and sattler.
