[AskJS] Is BLAKE3 safe and well-tested for production JavaScript apps? Looking for faster alternative to SHA-256

I'm working on a JavaScript application that needs to hash large amounts of data, and SHA-256 is becoming a performance bottleneck. I discovered BLAKE3 which claims to be much faster while maintaining the same security level as SHA-256.

Questions:

- Is BLAKE3 considered cryptographically secure and safe for production use?

- How well-tested is it compared to established algorithms?

- Are there good JavaScript/Node.js implementations available?

- Has anyone here used it in production applications?
