Seeking a career readiness agency, that isn’t a temp job agency, that applies to my future career in education
I successfully finished my bachelors degree in high school mathematics/special education (and in mathematics in general, one degree, two majors, three topics).
I haven’t successfully completed a first year as a teacher.
After being forced to resign from my first paid teaching position from a lack of preparedness for being an educator (especially within the special education field in which there is a lot of paperwork), and after not obtaining a teaching job since in the past 3-4 years, I have done a lot of reflection on what I want in my career, and what I need to do before I become a teacher.
I need a space wherein I can learn and practice more about the skills required for teaching, cover letter writing, and interviewing without the space being a temp job agency.
Does anyone have any resources that fit my needs?
Or am I better off making my own space and learning on my own time?
I recently have started listening to, and taking notes on, the cult of pedagogy podcast, so if there are few resources available, I at least know where to start. I also know that the schools around me are almost always looking for substitute teachers so I have that resource at my disposal too.
That said, I want to spend the next school year focusing in on my learning, without spending an exorbitant amount of money on going back to college, with an educator/education team who can direct and assist me in my learning, while maintaining my current (and practically full time) job’s income.
Thanks for any help that you might have!!!
