Denied from ULAX NYC.. Any other options?

Hey all I signed up for ULAX nyc fall ball back in June months before the deadline. And was told yesterday that I was not placed on a team and I can get my money back. Obviously I’d rather play but is there any other actually options here? A lot of the stuff about other leagues shared in the past seems to be dead and not active except ULax. I’m kinda shocked that they didn’t make a free agent team when there was plenty of free agents.

Was I supposed to hit up teams and ask to join? I’ve played my whole life up until college and have been itching to play since graduation. It’s annoying af to think I was gonna be able to play but then not.
