CAT 2025: How a 100%iler prepped while working full-time

Wisdom :redditgold:

Sharing a concrete, copyable plan from Khushal Agarwal (CAT 2024, 100%ile overall) that I think will help a lot of us aiming for CAT 2025.

Percentile: VARC 99.99%ile | DILR 99.86%ile | QA 99.92%ile | Overall 100%ile

TL;DR

  • Working + CAT is doable with a ruthless routine: ~3–4 focused study hours on weekdays; maximise weekends.
  • Mocks are 60–70% of prep. He took ~70 mocks (June–Nov). The analysis sheet did most of the heavy lifting.
  • VARC is the momentum set. Train reading ability, not just tricks; he went from ~200 → ~350 WPM with comprehension.
  • DILR: practice random mixed sets, not topic binges. He did ~600–800 sets over ~6 months.
  • QA: wrap concepts early; then practice under fatigue (QA comes last on test day).
  • Simulate D-day: mock at your actual slot time; sit idle ~60 min before to train “on-command” focus; do one centre-style mock.
