Replacing my hoka Clifton 9

First post her! I have been running in Clifton 9s for a year and need a replacement cause I can't find 9s in my size anymore. I tried the 10s on this weekend and the stack height and new increased drop bothered me. I felt like I was on platforms. The return policy at the store does not allow me to try them running. Is there a shoe that is closer to the 9? More information. Running is not my primary excercise. I am a surfer and swimmer and run to stay in shape for those activities. I run a 5k 3 to 5 times a week depending on the surf. I don't really plan on extending my runs so I don't need a long distance shoe. Is there a smaller stack and drop shoe similar to the Clifton 9 or is the new height of running shoes the new normal?
