Deleting Facebook 2025 (leaving smallest amount of information behind)
First of all I WISH I HAD NEVER USED THIS STUPID SOCIAL NETWORK TRAP. That being said, I've searched different (old) posts on how to delete most data possible from Facebook before deleting the account completely. And I need help with two issues especially (but feel free to share any info on this topic):
ISSUE #1: if you untag yourself from pictures uploaded by others, the picture (aka your face) will still be out there FOREVER. I know you can speak to those people and ask them to delete the pictures, but that can feel odd, especially if it is people you didn't speak to in yeeears.
ISSUE #2: all the messages that you ever sent to anyone will remain in the chat even if you delete your account. Nowadays you can delete sent messages BUT it must be done one by one AND the other person gets a notification every time. So that's super slow and weird.
I have the following idea and would appreciate thoughts on it: I've seen that some accounts I used to be friends with got cancelled and all of their messages got deleted. This feels like a sweet deal to me. A friend's account got hacked by someone who apparently promoted terr0rlsm in some way and their account got cancelled. I can see on my end how her messages are all gone. But how to reach such an outcome intentionally? Once, on Twitter, I introduced my year of birth under Twitter's minimum age requirement by mistake. My account got instantly blocked and I guess all my content got deleted. Do you guys think that could work on Facebook? Maybe I should make sure my email addrees is not linked to other Meta networks so that they don't cancel my Instagram account? Any thoughts? Love x
