Idle start

So i just upgraded to my own truck and it has idle start.

This may come as a shock to many of you /s but the idle start does not work at all.

I’ve jerry rigged some gallon water bottles to keep 3psi of brake pressure applied constantly so the truck wont shut off.

Would there be any negative effects as far as the truck goes from having the brake pedal slightly pressed down like this?

Also if theres a better way to go about this let me know.
