Do orthodontists generally provide "better" clear aligner treatment than general dentists?

Do orthodontists generally provide superior clear aligner treatment as compared to general dentists?

Have been going to a great family/general dentist for many, many years. He offers Invisalign.

Does the additional training orthodontists receive really make a substantial difference in their ability to design a treatment program that provides for the best results? Debating if it's worth seeing a (new to me) orthodontist or sticking with my trusted general dentist. My case is fairly simple in terms of correction required.
