Motivation to get to the end of this game?

I really enjoy the mystery solving mechanics of this game, I like finding the clues, the psychic investigation mechanics, and I like piecing clues together to come to conclusions, and especially the way you can interpret different deductions differently to come to some different conclusions.

But I hate the open world part of this game. It feels like I am only getting 10 minute bursts of what I am actually enjoying in this game and then all my other time is wasted on bland traversal in a dreary city, boating down streets that all look the same.

So to fans of this game, to people who have already beaten it, help me find a light here. How did you find ways to enjoy the open world, and traveling from place to place? How can I get myself to keep going and get more out of the mystery I am deeply enjoying? How can I keep going with this game when I resent such a big part of it? Is it just not for me?
