Fed up with ambiguous study guides, so I'm starting a project. WORK IN PROGRESS.

Im in year 12 at the moment and when studying online (MME, SaveMyExams, PMT) or from a textbook I'm constantly faced with the issue of either:

  1. Missing coverage where I've gone to test my knowledge on past papers and there is content in the past papers that wasn't in any of my resources.

  2. Unnecessary fluff where (textbooks being the worst candidate for this) extra, not-needed, historical and contextual (not even to help intuition) is added which can be confusing as to whether you should take notes, leading to wasted time.

  3. Inconsistent coverage where there is ambiguity amongst all sources on what to study, sometimes the sources have all taken the specification so differently that the content you see can vary.

  4. Poor intuition and topic management caused by missing key information (or not highlighting important information enough) that is fundamental to your understanding of a topic and can lead to loosing your ability to grasp entire topics, and because a lot of the specification builds on past understanding, future topics too.

My goal is to create a rigorous, fluff-free, intuitive, clear and punctual study guide for A-Level Edexcel Chemistry and OCR A-Level Biology.
I've created this post to ask for *constructive* criticism, tips on what to cut down on, do more of, introduce and to create something for students who feel the same way and to students who are homeschooled or not in school (so don't have the access to the luxury of a teacher).

Cheers.
Mason.
