Got my lawn renovation (nearly) complete this weekend!

Thursday: Scalped the lawn as low as I could with my mower. Went through and hit the obvious weeds and invasive grass areas with glyphosate. Then, I sprayed a heavy dose of PGR with a bit of mesotrione over the whole yard.

Saturday: Ran a dethatcher (SunJoe electric) through the whole yard, making two passes. Followed that up with a scalp with my dad's much nicer Stihl mower. Wasn't able to go on it's lowest setting without bottoming out, so we ran it on the 2nd lowest. Pulled up a ton of junk. Then, I spread out 25lbs of Blue Resilience and two bags of starter fertilizer. I ran out of seed after doing the front yard and all the borders, so I need to come back and hit the center of my back yard later when my next bag of seed comes in. Finished by raking that all in, pulling up another bag full of junk.

Sunday: Did a very light watering and let that absorb for a couple hours. Then, I filled up my back-torture device (lawn roller) with about 200lbs of water and dragged it up and down my yard for the next few hours. At one point, my wife came outside and said my grunting was scaring the dogs. After that, I wrung the sweat out of my clothes and drank a couple beers. Suited up with my PPE and painted everything blue again. Heavy dose of mesotrione and a touch more PGR for good measure. Also convinced my neighbor to let me spray his front yard. I'll gladly comp him the couple dollars worth of chemicals for the chance to hit back at the weeds which have spent the whole summer plotting to invade my yard.

Got my sprinklers set up and will be lightly watering a few times a day for the foreseeable future. I'll get a few more lbs of seed down in the back as soon as it's delivered. Should be plenty left after that for a light overseed in the spring.

My whole body hurts, including my wallet. I really hope this is all worth it.

UPDATE: Things got serious
