How do I prevent format changes to my signature?

New Outlook is driving me mad. It seems that you cannot adjust the default paragraph style to remove space after/before paragraphs. The side effect of this is that my signature, which is 9 lines long, is now space out 18 lines. It's HUGE!. How can I ensure that my signature has no spaces before/after like it used to? I have to manually change it each time.

Note: this worked fine until the recent new outlook update.
