PSA: Connecting any USB-C smart device fixes the Switch 2 Dock Ethernet issue
I’m posting this so it’s easier for anyone else who runs into the same problem to find. After digging through a few Reddit threads, I found a consistent fix that actually works—and I can confirm it myself.
Some users mentioned that connecting a smart device via a cable adapter resolved the “No Wired Connection” issue, but I’ve found an even simpler method:
Steps:
-
Take any phone or tablet that is thin enough to fit into the dock and has a USB-C port.
-
Line up the device’s port with the dock’s internal USB-C connector.
-
Gently lower the device in until you feel it connect.
The dock has a plastic flap that drops down to expose the connector when a device’s weight is applied.
-
Leave the device connected for about 1 minute.
-
Gently remove the phone/tablet.
-
Now place your Switch 2 in the dock as normal.
👉 At this point, the wired connection should work properly.
Huge thanks to everyone on Reddit who shared their findings—you saved me from sending my dock back to Nintendo!
