To ask for 50cents or not…

Advice Needed

Hi all, I just had my first annual review with the family I’ve been with for a year now. I am a family assistant/household manager and came on at $33 an hour. I spoke with the agency we worked with and described all of my duties, which includes making dinner every single night, whole families laundry, etc, and they said $35 felt more appropriate for everything I was doing, which I agreed with. VHCOL in DC. I was offered a $1.50 raise and did not push back at all because I figured it was close enough to $2. However, now I’m second guessing if I should have advocated more for myself. We haven’t drafted the updated contract yet, so I guess there’s still time, but definitely more awkward to ask 4 days later… what would you guys do? Go out of your way to ask for the extra $.50 an hour or just accept the $1.50? I do get a good holiday bonus and will be receiving a health insurance stipend after December.
