Where and How to Store Razor

I'm currently reorganizing my bathroom shelf and trying to figure out what to do with my razor. It's so annoying- I don't shave all too regularly, at mosttt once a week in summer, but those weeks are more an exception than the rule.

I have no clue where to store my razor when I don't use it. Keeping it in the shower I noticed makes the blades rusty after a while, and the constant moisture isn't the best.

So, I've been keeping it in my bathroom shelf, but most of the time it's annoying because I don't know how to keep it there. I don't fancy accidentally slicing my finger open on it, and the blades i have don't have a protective case (they have these gel pad thingys). Laying it down flat also takes up a lot of precious space.

So, any tips would be appreciated; thanks in advance!
