How do I play Forgefiends?

Sup boys. Struggling a bit to field these, I know the stats are great into elite infantry, but how are you deploying them? Typically I play marines and will put a Lancer to hold the long lane from my natural objective into op DZ. Maybe keep a 2nd lancer in strat reserves.

But with FF I'm less sure. If I put it on the long diagonal it's not winning a shoot out with enemy AT. So it pops out, gets some shots off.... at what? Can't take down an enemy vehicle and if op has elite infantry in the open on their non-natural side of the board what are they even doing there.

There's an argument that taking shooting is mandatory to keep your opponent honest on deployment. I get that with most armies, but with WE it feels like I'd actually rather have my opponent stage everything on the line and just be closer to it
