Asked for a self-esteem boost through honesty letters and am now getting the opposite outcome.

At the end of July I reached out to 4 of my closest friends, asking them each to write me a letter telling me what they valued about me and how they viewed me as I'd been struggling with low self-esteem and was working hard on myself. I gave them all a deadline of 'sometime in August'.

Obviously, that deadline has passed, and none of them sent me anything. One of my friends, did send a text saying they'd been really busy and would send it as soon as they could.

This exercise has clearly had the opposite effect of what I intended. Should I nudge them or just leave it and work on myself? My friends are good people, neurodivergent and busy. For me, asking again for the letters would take some of the impact out of them as no one did them in the timeframe and now I would feel their objectivity would be masked by guilt for having forgotten.

And am I reading into it too much to think I'm not worth an hour of their time to write the letters? If I leave it, I will also feel awkward if they remember in like 6 months time.
