honest opinion on this.. (transference)
So long story short .. I have/had a crush on my therapist... I know thats common but its been really bothering me and I feel awful about it... I told her and openly flirted during numerous sessions. It's not her job to deal with me trying to date her. I know that cant happen for so many reasons .Yes we are terminating the sessions.. but something from our last session is really bothering me. I asked her at the end of the session "please tell me theres no chance I could ever be get to know you away from therapy"
and she responded with "Is that what you want me to say" and my heart just melted. I said "come on just tell me I cant" again and she sad the same answer.
I want to be clear I am the one thats 100% in the wrong here and not her.. but I am just curious if you think thats what you would normally say in the situation? If it is, great! Currently feel It gave me really dumb false hope even if its my fault for being delusional and I am curious from a therapists perspective how you would have answered that.
My guess is she was trying to be nice and not make me feel bad and I know its an uncomfortable question to be asked. Guess I just wanted closure, in a selfish way.
Thanks!
