ShipFast vs IndieKit — Which One Makes More Sense for SaaS?
Hey Indie Hackers,
I’ve worked with both ShipFast and IndieKit while building SaaS projects, and here’s how they compare from my experience:
ShipFast
- Best for: Getting an MVP out the door quickly.
- Pros: Super fast setup (auth, payments, landing page). Great for validating ideas without overthinking.
- Cons: Doesn’t scale well. You’ll likely need to rewrite if your project grows.
- Price: Affordable for early-stage projects.
IndieKit
- Best for: Products you expect to scale. Comes with multi-tenancy, flexible payment integrations, admin tools, etc.
- Pros: Built with long-term growth in mind, so you avoid painful rewrites later.
- Cons: Might feel like overkill if you just want to test an MVP.
- Price: Higher, but makes sense if you’re aiming for something more serious.
Summary:
- ShipFast → speed and quick validation.
- IndieKit → scalability and growth from day one.
Curious if anyone else here has tried either of these — what’s been your experience?
