2009 ford fusion sync

I just “inherited” a 2009 ford fusion. I was successful in pairing my phone to the Bluetooth and I can make phone calls, however, when I play my music through Spotify, it shows that it is playing through sync, but there’s no sound coming out of the speaker. My sister over over the radio the radio plays fine not understanding what the problem could be. Thank you.!
