Anyone here bought a home around 45? Need advice

I am 45 and earning around 30 LPA. Recently I have been thinking if this is the right stage of life to finally buy a home. On one hand owning a place feels like stability and security. On the other hand I keep wondering if it is too late to start or if it would be smarter to continue renting and invest the money elsewhere.
I have been checking platforms like Magicbricks, 99acres, Nobroker and a few others to understand the market, but it feels overwhelming with so many options and the documents involved.
If anyone here has been through a similar situation I would really like to know what worked for you. Did buying feel worth it in the long run or did renting give you more flexibility?
