Barndominium building in souther CA?

Souther CA resident here, looking into building our forever home.

Very much in the beginning phases, looking at land with our realtor this week. We have also loosely looked into financing. Really could use advice and experience if someone in southern CA has any!! would really appreciate any referrals - to CGs, builders, suppliers, general advice, tips, etc.
