Wanted to talk about a story concept of mine

So I was thinkin about why i struggle to get more done with my writing, and I think at least partially its cause i want it to be really good, but im not the most experienced writer so i worry i wont do the story justice. So i've been brewing a side project to act as my starting point and I wanted to share what I have for that idea so far and see what people think.

Lalacrys "Layla" Hiraldyne is a young Telsan (a race of Avian people) woman currently living in Rus, working at Cyril's Archive (this worlds Library of Alexandria) due to a general nerdiness and love of books/knowledge. While doing some daily duties, she stumbles upon a basement, and her curiosity gets the better of her, leading her to investigate. Inside she finds tomes that hold knowledge that is dangerous, and she interacts with a sealed grimoire. Upon reading an incantation from it, she is struck with a magical blast that knocks her unconscious. Upon waking, she finds a spectral guest now within her head, claiming to be the aspect of Cyril, who is believed to be the great bird guiding the planet. Cyril then tasks her with delving into Umbranel, the deep plane, to look for something important. When she tries to leave, her body reacts poorly to leaving the Grimoire behind, learning that her Magical systems are now intertwined with it, and she cannot stray too far away from it.
