I need unconventional activity recommendations for an autistic child

Discussion

I am a nanny to a low functioning PDA autistic child. She is 14 but mentally elementary age. I'm with her 5-6 days a week and we go on an outing daily.

Unfortunately kiddo is struggling extra hard with her triggers atm. Laughter is her largest trigger and crowds.

I've been trying to find places/activities that are less crowded and sensory friendly. She loves being around other kids but is struggling due to her triggers right now. Plus most younger kids are weary of her due to her age/size even if mentally she is on their level.

Usually hiking trails are the best option but the heat has been killer even going early in the morning. She loves the drive through trail in Apopka and Merritt Island too.

Her special interests are vehicles, construction, animals, nature, different cultural music, disney, Halloween, and Christmas. She has issues with her tactile skills so hands on activities like crafts or things with steps aren't the best.

We do like to go watch construction sites or go to the airport to watch the planes and check out the disney store. If anyone knows of any very active construction sites that would be awesome too.

Thanks in advance!
