Bereavement policy

So I had a family member pass away and since I’ve started two years ago I’ve had to take bereavement about 2-3 times for a family members funeral. The last time it was for a great aunt and was covered under the bereavement leave so I was paid for the shift I couldn’t do due to the funerals. Today I asked for it for another great aunt and was told it’s not covered but they’d find me coverage. Has the policy changed
