Trips me out people on here with their shopping lists of qualities they want, tall, tattooed, athletic, military, height weight proportionate etc, etc. We aren't ordering a laptop with all the features we want. I just laugh because even if you find that perfect exact person, that won't make you happy. You have no idea what will make you happy, those lists just make it harder to find someone who's willing to accept you, and adore you as you are.

We are looking for a human connection, and by definition we are all flawed, and damaged in some way. It's what it means to be human, we are defined by our experiences, good, and bad. We've all suffered battle damage of spiritual, emotional, or physical kind during our lives. But it doesn't define us at all. It doesn't sum us up as we are, as human beings.

Meaningful connections are fragile, beautiful contracts. We have to mesh our expectations, our hopes, with theirs, to not say the wrong thing at the wrong time, to be the person they hope you can be. It's tough, it's so difficult, and no one has any idea of how special those meaningful connections truly are. Then people ghost each other, lie to each other, and just mistreat each other, and their weak justification is "that's what happened to me" as if that justifies it at all.

I take that back some do, you often see them coming back looking for that person that isn't there anymore. Those people know the cost and the sense of loss of losing something meaningful. They wear the price on their hearts. I'm not attacking anyone's preferences, I hope they find their own happiness with their perfect person, but me, I'm just going to find someone flawed, with not a perfect body, but an amazing heart, who loves to laugh, and who emanates warmth and kindness.

Guess if you forced me to pick qualities I like the person would kind, patient, understanding, a sense of humor, intelligent, and also would be cool if she had a submissive streak and is a bit nerdy.
