Why did Cowboy Carter win album of the year?

I am genuinely a huge fan of Beyonce and I’ve been curious of why this album won album of the year since it won a few months ago but Beyoncé’s fan base is brutal so i never asked. There were a few songs on the albums I did enjoy and I still vibe out to currently. For the most part though you can tell that a lot of thought was put into the album but it’s just difficult to listen to as it doesn’t have that calm chill vibe that her other albums have.

Along with that it wasn’t nearly as impactful as her fans made it out to be. The only song from the album that was played on the radio was Texas Hold Em’, many people didn’t even know the album existed because of the very little marketing she put into the album. Her tour was still very successful probably one of the most successful tours of all time but I mean she’s Beyonce she could release an album with her just singing different versions of Mary had a little lamb and it would go viral. I just don’t think the album had the impact or the replayability that her other albums have and I’m genuinely curious as to why Cowboy Carter won album of the year.
