“Follow the Money: Hanssem, Massachusetts Design, Julian Woods — RTA Cabinetry Gone Wrong”

This is a warning for homeowners, designers, and contractors considering business with Hanssem Corporation and its successor companies.

• Hanssem Corporation was originally headquartered at 20 Kilmer Road, Edison, NJ 08817, manufacturing kitchen and bath cabinetry for the U.S. building and remodeling markets.
• The company later changed its name to Massachusetts Design Corporation while remaining at the same Edison location.
• Without notice, Massachusetts Design closed its Edison operation and registered a new company in Massachusetts: Julian Woods, LLC, filed on June 19, 2025. The registered agent is Jungryul Chun, located at 122 Monadnock Rd., Chestnut Hill, MA 02467, with the principal business address at 523 Pleasant Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.

We are posting this to share our experience and to warn others. Our team placed orders with Massachusetts Design that were paid in full for ready-to-assemble cabinetry — which normally has a 2–3 week lead time — and received no product for over four months, with minimal or no updates. Refund requests have gone unanswered or stalled indefinitely.

While Julian Woods has not yet been observed selling products, it appears to be the same company as Massachusetts Design, registered under the same agent, with the same operational practices, now operating under a new name in a different state.

We hope others who have been affected by Hanssem, Massachusetts Design, or Julian Woods will connect here to share information. By pooling experiences, we can help prevent additional homeowners, designers, and contractors from being defrauded.
