Pretending to Be Okay Is Draining Me
Every day I wake up and put on a mask just to get through work and social interactions. People think I’m fine because I laugh at their jokes and make small talk, but inside I’m falling apart. By the end of the day, I’m so drained from pretending that I can barely move. Sometimes I wish people could see through the mask so I wouldn’t have to explain. Does anyone else feel like they’re constantly performing just to appear normal?
