Smart meters

So Utility Partners of America ( contracted through National grid) just installed a smart meter on my neighbors house. They told me they were changing all the meters and I asked, “what if I don’t want one?”The installer was polite and said I would have to schedule an appointment and there were other residents with concerns. I’m quite irritated with the “delivery charge” of my electricity last month (over $400) so I’m being difficult. Any thoughts neighbors?
