Starting a New Character in honor of Season 2 of Fallout

I wanted to do another run of New Vegas and in honor of the trailer I had to pick the Legion, give me your thoughts on this build and background:

How he became a Legionnaire:

Solomon Jefferson was born to NCR farmers, raised on hard labor and discipline. Rejecting a life bound to the fields, he trained under a local sheriff’s department for years before earning his badge. On the day of his graduation ceremony, raiders struck his family’s farm, and against his superior's wishes Solomon rushes to the scene but arrived too late, his father brutally murdered, and his mother on death's door, she found comfort in his arms during her final moments. Wracked with guilt, he abandoned his badge on their graves and wandered the wasteland in exile.

Years later, working as a courier in the Mojave, Solomon was ambushed by Benny and the Khans while delivering the Platinum Chip. Left for dead, he relived that nightmare of failing his parents in his head until he awoke in a cold sweat in Doc Mitchell’s care and soon found purpose in defending Goodsprings from the Powder Gangers. What began as a defense quickly grew into a merciless manhunt to prevent anyone else from sharing his parents fate. On this path of slaughter he grew angry with the NCR’s negligence, he saw how over stretched the Republic was, and with the exception of the Rangers, most troops he encountered were demoralized.

In Nipton, Solomon encounters Vulpes Inculta, witnessing the Legion’s harsh lessons firsthand. The contrast struck him deeply: where the NCR failed to keep gangs from running rampant, the Legion imposed a level of fear that deterred even the meanest scum. After eventually tracking down and killing Benny at the Tops Casino, a familiar face, Vulpes disguised as a civilian on the strip delivers Caesar’s invitation. On the road to the Fort, Solomon saw something that was unheard of where he grew up and had traveled, lands so safe that caravans navigate without armed guards. He was convinced before he ever stepped foot in the tent, when he finally came before Caesar he knelt offering his service for the opportunity to join such a society. Pleased with his zeal and determination in line with Legion tradition, Caesar saw fit to erase his past identity and gave him the name of Marcus Varo marking his new beginning.
