What should I do?
Hi. Me and my family went on vacation to Italy. As we were on the airport on our way back home the host of the apartment send us photos of a table, which stood in the corner of the living room, with its leg and top in two pieces. He said that he would be seeking payment for damage. The two pieces where they are normally conected were covered in glue, which could indicate that the damage was done before and was then glued together. We didn't even touch that table, cause there was the other one in front of the couches. But unfortunatelly we didn't take photos of the apartment when we came in - I know it was our mistake in not doing so. The table was a bit tiltted when we came in but we didn't pay too much attention to it. Now the host is asking for 200 euros in damages for this. What should we do? Pay and hope that he doesn't ask to pay for something else? Or deny paying it? What would denying the payment mean exactly - what would be the procedures?
I will add that we didn't see the host once. The keys were in the box outside and when we were leaving there was only a cleaning lady ready to go in.
I would appriciate any answears about this issue or the proces of denying the claim.
I'm sorry for my spelling mistakes but I'm not a native English speaker.
