Anti-tunneling should only involve hook mechanics
Anti-tunneling measures should only involve tunneling mechanics such as hook states and timers. It should not mess with the balance of gen regression.
I feel like the anti-tunneling ideas are half baked. Although I appreciate them listening and trying. Here are some of my ideas that keep anti tunneling within the frame of hooks:
-The hook timer doesn't start until the killer is X meters away.
This also supports anti face camping. But as a killer, if you want your hook to put pressure on the survivors, you have to walk away in the same sense as Devour Hope. Once you are X meters away, it makes less sense to turn back around and waste crucial time. It makes more sense to hook, leave and put pressure elsewhere. Maybe even take face camping away and go as far as pausing the timer when a killer is too close unless another survivor is also close (or in chase)
- let hooked survivors prevent themselves from being unhooked by teammates
I know this one would be controversial. But I strictly solo queue. From the time of the proposed changes I've kept track of how many times I've been "tunneled". It has almost exclusively been due to poor unhooks. DONT BRING THE CHASE TO THE HOOK THEN PULL ME. If I take the protection hit, then the killer should target me. I don't want to be pulled right in front of the killer. Let me reach up and pull at the hook for extended time, letting the survivor know not to pull me. There needs to be some sort of communication
There HAS to be a solution that does not involve messing with other mechanics
