What public or charter schools in the city are fostering a smartphone free environment?

I recently found out that kids are being given iPads as early as K in NYC public schools, and then chromebooks in 2nd grade.

We can't afford paying for private schools and so I'm asking, what are our options? We live in Astoria and would like to surround ourselves with likeminded parents that want a better childhood for our kids than the iPad-generation. And I feel like the school we go to has a huge impact on that, as well.
