What do you think the next big shift in rap will be??? and which trends will actually last?

Rap feels like it’s constantly flipping sounds every couple of years. Right now you’ve got melodic trap, rage beats, drill, pluggnb, all coexisting, but only some of these waves stick around long enough to define an era. I’m curious what people here think the next big style change will be. What sound feels like it’s bubbling right now that could take over in a real way? And which ones do you think are just short-lived hype? Also, what happens with artists who are more locked into a single lane? Like Big X Tha Plug or DaBaby… they’ve both carved out a distinct sound, but do you think that kind of “one gear” approach can stand the test of time in today’s rap landscape? Or do they risk getting left behind when the next wave hits? Would love to hear everyone’s predictions.
