Just realized I’ve been living with undiagnosed ADHD

Diagnosis

I think I had ADHD my entire life and just didn’t know. Im in my late 20s now and I always chalked up certain things to being lazy or bad with time or just anxious. I was the kid who got good grades but only because I stayed up till 2am rewriting the same paper three times. I zone out mid convo, forget what I was doing in the middle of doing it start 5 projects and finish none felt like a personal failing for so long.

Yesterday I was looking into ADHD for someone else and the more I read the more I felt like I was reading a description of my brain. The time blindness, the emotional intensity the way I knew what i needed to do but just couldn’t make myself do it? All of it suddenly made sense. What finally made you realize it wasn’t just anxiety or procrastination? What signs stood out the most once you started looking into ADHD?

I haven’t seen a doctor ye, but now I feel like I at least have something solid to bring in, instead of just saying I have ADHD and hoping they take it seriously. Its a mix of relief and regret. Relief because things are finally clicking. Regret because how much easier could school work and life have been if I knew sooner
