Lightning struck Mount Rushmore and now four former presidents are running amok
I was beyond irritated as the rain was now just easing off while I made my way towards the summit. Thankfully the lightning from the night before had stopped so at least I didn't have to worry about being hit by a stray bolt.
A number of the lightning strikes had struck the faces on Mount Rushmore so someone had called me to check that there hadn't been any significant damage.
I was grumbling away to myself while being lowered down in front of Jefferson's face. I used my torch but couldn't see any cracks, while trying to shake off the feeling that I was being watched.
My eyes darted towards the sky as I heard a rumbling noise which I mistook for thunder, but the rain had cleared and the sky was now blue.
The rumbling grew in intensity and I gazed around in confusion before my eyes rested on the faces carved into the side of the mountain.
All four of them were now staring at me and I could see a red glow in each of their eyeballs. I began screaming at the people above to lift me up, while monstrous cracks now appeared all across the surface of the cliff.
I was swung from side to side while being raised and I could feel the malevolent gaze from the faces watching my every moment.
I had just reached the top when what sounded like an explosion threw everyone to the floor. My ears were ringing as I dragged myself to the edge and peered down. My blood ran cold as half the cliff wall was missing as the faces had somehow pulled themselves free.
I gazed off into the distance and watched in wonder as four huge lumps of rock rolled off in separate directions.
Within a day I was dragged before a number of high ranking officials and forced to repeatedly explain what I had witnessed. I managed to overhear that the presidents were causing untold destruction anywhere they went.
Entire towns were being wiped out and they were leaving no survivors. The bodies were impossible to identify as they were crushed beyond recognition.
Roosevelt was supposedly hiding in the mississipi river and sinking any ship that got too close. Lincoln was just moving from town to town on a murderous spree. Washington and Jefferson were heading East and leaving nothing alive in their path.
I was loaded onto a helicopter and moved to an impromptu military base that they had set up. It was within a couple of miles of Lincoln as they were trying to monitor him from a distance.
I wasn't sure what I should be doing so I just stood in a corner, and hoping that everyone would forget about me. A siren suddenly went off and I tried not to panic as everyone ran around grabbing weapons.
I managed to ask a passing soldier what was going on, only to discover to my horror that Lincoln was heading directly towards us.
I raced up a nearby tower as the sounds of tank fire echoed throughout the camp. Lincoln's white rock was now crimson as it was covered in layers of blood.
The tank shells bounced off him causing minimal damage, and within a couple of minutes the tanks were nothing more than a flattened piece of scrap metal.
I clutched the side of the tower as the ground was shaking as he moved around flattening the poor soldiers who didn't stand a chance.
Lincoln finally paused his slaughter and terror overwhelmed me as his head slowly turned and it's eyes locked onto my own.
I prepared for my own demise as he moved forward, only to be thrown over the rail as something deafening sent a shock wave across the camp.
I have no idea how long I lay there as my entire body was in agony, before finally pushing myself to my feet.
Flames riddled the camp as I limped towards the piece of rock that had caused so much chaos. It lay unmoving and the glow in the eyes had disappeared.
I couldn't help but see the irony at the massive hole in the back of it's skull, that had managed to put a stop to it's slaughter. I later learned that they had called in a drone strike in a last ditch attempt to kill it.
I was once again debriefed and dragged along as they attempted to deal with Roosevelt. It took them almost a thousand depth charges and the loss of two dozen ships and thousands of sailors lives to finally destroy him.
By this point Jefferson and Washington were near the East coast with Jefferson heading for Washington DC and Washington heading on a trajectory course for New York City.
Jefferson had wiped out the outskirts of the city before we could reach him. Luckily they had ordered an evacuation but not everyone had adhered to it.
Jefferson had run across a fuel truck causing it to explode and now he was covered in flames. Missile strikes caused untold destruction to the city around him, as moved from neighbourhood to neighbourhood killing anything living.
I watched from a helicopter as he rolled towards a highway that was filled with fleeing families. Suddenly his momentum stopped as he seemed to be stuck.
My helicopter landed on the ground and I rushed forward to see that the army had dug a trench and then partially covered it. Jefferson hadn't seen it and was now trapped. He was letting out a high pitched squeal and I began to worry that he might drag himself free.
Orders were issued and soon the ground around him was covered with enough C4 to destroy a city. We were all ushered away to a safe distance before the explosion was set off.
We weren't moved far enough away as a soldier beside me was crushed beneath the remains of a nose.
Washington was now the last one left and we feared the worst as the attempts to evacuate New York City had been largely unsuccessful.
The helicopter I was now on was part of a squadron that was following his movements. The helicopters had already depleted all their rockets, while using them to divert him away from populated areas.
We were reaching the edge of the city when he suddenly changed course, and I could hear confused voices over the radio as they tried to ascertain where he was going.
I was the first to realise and shouted out a warning but it was already too late, as he reached the coast and plunged into the Atlantic Ocean. The navy quickly lost contact with him as he disappeared into the depths.
It has now been two months since his last sighting, and I fear that he is just waiting for us to become complacent before launching his next attack.
