Advice please!

Buckle up.. Does anyone have experience they could share re: donating directly to a family member you have a complicated relationship with / financial stressors?

I have been approved to donate to my dad but he’s taking out his anxiety and frustrations on me and bringing up his financial issues that I have no control over constantly. I am emotionally exhausted and I haven’t even donated yet. Last week he ended up yelling at me over the phone when I told him I was approved. It was all going smoothly until this happened and now I’m not 100% sure, which I would like to be. He said some hurtful things to me.

It doesn’t help that I recently lost my job and will have to travel across the country for my surgery and recovery. I also won’t be able to take care of my dog for a while (he’s heavy and pulls on the leash), So my head is all over the place. Does anyone have any words of advice for any of these things? I feel confused and don’t want to make a rushed or emotional decision.

I should also mention that my dad’s coordinator/ team is unprofessional and blatantly pressuring me to pick a date when I’ve made it clear I’m not sure yet. I don’t feel like I have many people in my corner and it feels lonely. I know in the end it’s solely my decision but lord why must it all be so complicated?
