BEING GAY AS AN AFRICAN
I don't know why I am writing this. I am just so sad. Being gay in a place where it is even encouraged to be homophobic isn't doing good to my mental health. Having to be around when my family and friends criticise people like me.
I just read a news article saying that a bill to outlaw homosexuality in a neighbouring country to mine has been passed. (I actually admired the country beaches it's one of the only ones in the region which never outlawed homosexuality.) Now, they want it to be a crime to be caught in any homosexual acts. With a punishment so great as a Life Sentece to Prison. 😭 This saddens me. It just makes me feel so hopeless. I'm actually close to tears as I'm writing this. But I can't even talk to anyone around me. Because it is also punishable by the law in my home country (14 years in prison.)
I don't know why I'm writing this. I just needed to talk to someone. To rant.
