Best way to play HeartGold on a Mac ? And with an Xbox One controller?

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if there are any good ways to play Pokémon HeartGold or SoulSilver on a Mac. Ideally, I’d like to be able to use my Xbox One controller as well.

Does anyone here have experience with this setup or recommendations for which emulator/solution works best on macOS?

Thanks in advance!
