Housekeeping question-do I HAVE to change my last name if my husband’s last name is on our marriage certificate?

Hello, sorry if the title is confusing. Here’s the context:

I lost my wallet the other day after moving across the country, still having my ID from our old state. I also need to get my passport renewed to have some form of identification while I get all this sorted out.

I have not gone thru any of the legal steps to formally change my last name, though on our marriage certificate, it does list my last name as my husband’s. I am not interested in legally changing my name right now, but would that cause any issues getting my new documents? Like could I get my new docs with my maiden name now, then decide to formally change it at a later date?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, it is my first time being married. I hope this makes sense!
