I need advice on best way to install Linux Mint on an old laptop
My old laptop, cries out for Linux Mint (Cinnamon). It has not been used since 2017, and therefore I don't care about any of the data on it.
The laptop:
Asus Notebook, Pentium Dual Core T4400 Processor at 2.2 gHz.
4 Gb RAM
Hard disk that can be erased.
Currently running Windoze 10 Home.
The machine has not been run on the internet for many years, hence I'm fearful to turn on its WiFi.
So, if I want to install Mint (taking over the entire machine) should I:
-
Turn on its WiFi, and use whatever browser to download Mint and its goodies, or,
-
Download Mint on my other laptop, and burn it to a USB stick or DVD, then install to the target laptop?
Thank you.
