Considering a Tesla LR Model 3

Model 3

I’m considering buying a used 2020/21 Tesla Model 3 Long Range (40-50k miles, around £15-17k).

Why? I've worked out that it's a cheaper option than leasing with the milage I do and I do love a Tesla!

My situation:

  • Commute is 115-120 miles/day → about 25–30k miles per year.
  • That means 50–60k extra miles in just 2 years!
  • Tesla Long Range Warranty: 8 years / 150k miles on the battery & drive unit, but with my driving I’d likely exceed the 150k cap in 4 years.

My questions:

  1. I am thinking of selling at the 2nd/3rd year point prior to the warranty running out to get some money back? I'm assuming a lot of people will be doing this so will the market become saturated?
  2. Or, do you just buy a 90-100k and drive it into the ground until it's completely gone and needs significant repairs?

Thanks for you time on this! Appreciate it.
