Stuck with Step 1 Application After Triad Expired – Can’t Reapply

Hey guys, Need some advice here because I’m losing my mind.

I had applied for USMLE Step 1 earlier this year. I had to extend my eligibility period, but even then I couldn’t take the exam and my triad finally expired on Aug 31, 2025.

Now that Intealth launched in August and I’m ready to appear, I went to reapply. But when I try to submit a new application, it tells me:

“Our records indicate that you are already registered for this USMLE Step. You may not apply for a USMLE Step for which you are already registered.”

When I go to “Add Exam,” the only thing I can choose is Step 2.

My ECFMG application status says “Approved/Accepted,” but I haven’t taken any Step 1 or Step 2 exam yet.

I’ve been trying to reach their helpline all last week and no one is picking up.

Wtf is going on? Has anyone else faced this issue with expired triads + the new Intealth system? How do I fix this and move forward?
