✨Magic✨

Discussion

Curious how were all handling magic. Not just the Tooth Fairy or Sanata Claus, but all the little weird bits of magic that suffuse childhood.

Does your kid have a stuffed animal that can move “on its own”? Do things “magically” appear for them? Are fairies or gnomes real?

Personally I like the idea of part of childhood being magical and unexplainable, and it’s fun to play little games that revolve around some “magic.” But as my kid has gotten slightly older, it’s gotten harder to navigate as she gets more aware, but also continues believing fervently in magic. I’m beginning to wonder if I’m not raising someone who would be vulernable to like MAHA-level magical thinking. Or just be alsomeone other kids think is weird! But also I think being weird is okay??

tl:dr, when are you planning to crush your child’s spirit and tell the boring nature of the real world, or have you already?
