is having no friends a red flag?
lately i’ve been seeing stuff (esp online) about people talking about how it’s a red flag for people to have no friends + how they’re like “i see why this person has no friends” when they’re around someone who is friendless. it’s been making me feel so self-conscious and awful about myself since i don’t really have friends to hang out with, aside from a handful of online friends (and even then i only feel very close with one of them).
i’ve mainly seen this as something online, but i also remember many “close” or used-to-be-close people expressing their uncomfortableness and embarrassment of being around me in public bc i “don’t have many friends” and i’ve been ostracized and mocked my whole life (up to now) despite my best efforts + my genuine sense of sincerity. so it is something as much as something of an offline opinion as it is online. i’ve been feeling very down about this, like how can i even make some friends if no one wants to be around me bc i don’t have any to begin with? is it really that much of a red flag?
