Collecting colostrum 36 weeks
I am now 36 weeks and got the go-ahead to start manually expressing to collect colostrum. I have watched some tutorials online, as well as gotten advice from my sil who is a public health nurse (she formerly worked in L&D and now helps breastfeeding mamas and does home visits for new parents to check babies wellness). So far I’m having a little luck expressing from my left breast, but very little from my right. I’m right handed, so curious if this is just an issue with hand positioning and technique or if it’s possible I’m just producing more on one side than the other! Any tips would be appreciated. I’m really hoping to have a decent collection of colostrum and I really want to have a positive breast feeding journey when my daughter is born
